F. W. and Emma Wells diaries, 1884-1893, 1914.

Diaries of F. W. and Emma Wells of Oakfield, Wisconsin. Dating 1884-1893, F. W.'s daily entries center on his work as an agent for the La Belle Wagon Works Co. of Fond du Lac, Wis., and recount his experiences traveling through his sales territory including Wisconsin, Iowa, and Nebraska. Entries also include names of his customers, and note travel expenses incurred. Emma's diary entitled "My Trip Abroad" describes the family's tour through Europe in 1914 focusing on itinerary, sight seeing activities, and hotel accommodations. Her last two entries describe crowding in trains and ships as people attempted to leave Paris before World War I.
